Installation Guide

Google Maps Extractor is a Chrome Extension that is loaded manually (unpacked). Follow these steps carefully.

โš ๏ธ This extension is not published on the Chrome Web Store. You must load it manually using Developer Mode. This is normal for private/internal tools.

Download the Extension

Download the Google Maps Extractor.zip file from the product page and extract it to a permanent folder on your computer (e.g., C:\Tools\GME or ~/Tools/GME). Do not delete this folder after installation.

Open Chrome Extensions Page

Open Google Chrome and navigate to the extensions page by typing in the address bar:

chrome://extensions/

Enable Developer Mode

In the top-right corner of the Extensions page, toggle Developer mode to ON. A toolbar with three new buttons will appear.

Load Unpacked Extension

Click the "Load unpacked" button, then browse to and select the root folder of the extracted extension (the folder that contains manifest.json). Click Select Folder.

๐Ÿ’ก Make sure you select the folder containing manifest.json, not the parent folder or a subfolder.

Verify Installation

The Google Maps Extractor card should now appear in your extensions list. The Google Maps pin icon ๐Ÿ“ will be visible in your browser toolbar. Pin it for easy access by clicking the puzzle icon ๐Ÿงฉ โ†’ Pin.

โœ… Installation complete! You're ready to start extracting data from Google Maps.

How to Use

Follow these steps to extract business data from Google Maps searches.

Step-by-Step Guide

Open Google Maps Search

Go to Google Maps and perform a search, for example: coffee shop in New York. Wait for the results list to appear on the left sidebar.

Open the Dashboard

Click the ๐Ÿ“ Google Maps Extractor icon in your Chrome toolbar. Click "Open Dashboard" to open the full extraction dashboard in a new tab.

Select the Google Maps Tab

In the dashboard, use the dropdown at the top to select the tab that has Google Maps open. Then click ๐ŸŽฏ Focus to link the dashboard to that tab.

Start Capturing

Click the โ–ถ Start button. The extension will begin intercepting Google Maps network requests. Go back to your Google Maps tab โ€” all visible results will be captured automatically.

Scroll to Load More Results

Scroll down the results list on the left side of Google Maps to load more places. Each batch of results is automatically captured and added to the dashboard without duplicates. The counter will update in real-time.

Stop Capturing

When you have enough data, click โ–  Stop in the dashboard. The extension will detach from the tab and stop capturing new data.

Exporting Data

Once you have your data, you can export it in two formats:

โฌ‡ JSON Export

  • Full structured data
  • All fields included
  • Best for developers/APIs
  • Click โฌ‡ JSON button

โฌ‡ CSV Export

  • Spreadsheet-compatible
  • Opens in Excel / Sheets

  • Click โฌ‡ CSV button

Map View

Switch to the ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Peta Distribusi tab to visualize all captured places on an interactive OpenStreetMap. Each pin is color-coded by rating and sized by review count. Click any pin to see details.
